• Pink luster dust gives this drink a soft, glowy shimmer — rose gold deepens it if you want more warmth
• 1/8 tsp is plenty. More doesn’t mean more shimmer, it just muddies the color
• Works as a kids’ party drink, a brunch thing, or honestly just a Tuesday
Pink luster dust in strawberry milk is almost unfairly pretty. Drop it in, give it a gentle swirl, and the whole glass lights up. Five minutes, zero skills required.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Whole milk (or oat milk)
- 3 tbsp Strawberry syrup (store-bought or homemade)
- 1/8 tsp Pink Luster Dust
- 1 pinch Rose Gold Luster Dust (optional, for depth)
- 1/2 cup Ice cubes
- 1 each Fresh strawberry, for garnish
Add ice to a tall glass. Pour in the strawberry syrup first — it’ll settle at the bottom, which looks great when the milk goes in.
Drop 1/8 tsp of Pink Luster Dust directly onto the ice. If you’re using Rose Gold Luster Dust too, add that pinch right on top of the pink. The two colors together are genuinely something.
Pour milk slowly over the back of a spoon to preserve the layers. The glitter will start to shimmer as the milk moves through it.
Give the glass one slow, single swirl with a long spoon or straw. That’s all. The dust catches light as it moves — full stirs just disperse everything too fast. Watch it for a second before you touch it again.
Nick a fresh strawberry and hang it on the rim. Serve immediately — the shimmer is best in the first few minutes.

A Few Things Worth Knowing
This drink works with pretty much any milk — whole, oat, almond, even a thick coconut milk if you want something richer. The shimmer shows up better against the pink from the syrup than it would in plain white milk, which is why we always add the syrup first.
The Rose Gold Luster Dust addition is optional but worth trying at least once. Pink on its own reads bright and fun. Pink plus rose gold reads like something from a bakery counter that costs twice what it should.
Curious about how this stuff actually works in drinks? We’ve got a full breakdown on whether edible glitter is actually safe — short answer is yes, but the details matter. And if this is your first time using luster dust, the beginner’s guide is a good place to start before you go wild with it.
If you like the vibe here, the Unicorn Shimmer Lemonade is a similar energy — bright, fun, very hard to drink without smiling.
Not really. The shimmer is best the moment it’s made — luster dust in liquid starts to settle after 10-15 minutes. If you’re making a batch for a party, prep everything else ahead and add the dust right before serving.
More than 1/4 tsp per glass and you’ll start to see it cloud the drink instead of shimmer through it. Stick with 1/8 tsp. That’s the sweet spot every time.
Yes. Oat milk is actually our favorite for this — the slightly thicker texture keeps the glitter suspended a little longer. Almond milk works fine. Full-fat coconut milk turns it into something closer to a dessert, which isn’t a bad thing.
